Why Hong Kong has no postal code

According to Hongkong Post, its sorting machines already read over 90% of mail without one, and coding Hong Kong's roughly three million addresses would need codes up to 15 digits long. It has no plan to introduce a postcode.

Some sites list "999077" as Hong Kong's postal code. It is not a code Hongkong Post issues, and mail delivery does not use it.
