Need a Hong Kong company’s registered office, or want to check the business registration number someone gave you? Type the start of the company’s name, in English or Chinese, or its business registration number. This page asks the Companies Registry’s open data as you search and lists the live local companies and registered non-Hong Kong companies that match.

What the search covers

• Live local companies: English and Chinese name, business registration number, company type, date of incorporation and registered office address.
• Registered non-Hong Kong companies: corporate name, any approved name for carrying on business in Hong Kong, other corporate names, business registration number, place of incorporation, company type, date of registration and principal place of business in Hong Kong.

The Registry’s statistics count 1,621,154 local companies (re-domiciled companies included) and 16,153 registered non-Hong Kong companies on the register at the end of August 2026. Companies no longer on the register are not in these lists.

How to search

• A name from its start. The Registry matches the beginning of a name only: “Hong Kong E” finds “HONG KONG EDUCATION …”, but “Education” does not. Capitals do not matter, and a Chinese name works the same way (“中國”).
• A business registration number: eight digits, such as 75698252. Some local companies’ numbers are published as C followed by seven digits (C1572528); type them as they are. A business registration certificate prints the number as 12345678-000-08-26-1: the first eight digits are enough.
• At most 100 of each. The Registry gives up to 100 local and 100 non-Hong Kong companies per search, in no particular order. When a list stops at 100, there may be more: type more of the name.

What this site keeps

No copy of the register. Every search goes to the Companies Registry as you make it, and the answer to the same search is kept for up to 24 hours (the Registry updates its data daily), then asked again. There is no page for each company and no list of all companies, and search results are not indexed by search engines. For a company’s current particulars, the Registry is the authority.

Where a company’s address matches the business address of a licensed trust or company service provider on the Registry’s list, the result says so and links to that licensee’s page. Providing a registered office is one of the trust or company services that need a licence (the Registry’s pamphlet).
