MTR Fares: Adult, Student, Child and Elderly
MTR fares depend on the stations you travel between, and paying with an Octopus card is usually cheaper than a single ticket. Student Octopus, children aged 3 to 11, passengers 65 and over, and eligible persons with disabilities each have concession fares:

Ferries are among the cheapest ways to travel in Hong Kong — the Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central or Wan Chai costs only a few dollars, and outlying island routes remain modest for the distance.
The $2 Concession Scheme
Under the Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme, passengers aged 65 and over and eligible persons with disabilities travel for $2 per trip on the MTR, franchised buses, green minibuses and ferries; where the ordinary fare is below $2, the lower fare applies.
