Live bus arrivals at the stops nearest you

One tap shows every bus and minibus stop within walking distance and the next departures from each — KMB, Citybus and green minibus together, straight from the operators’ real-time feeds on data.gov.hk. Allow location and the nearest-stops card opens by itself; otherwise search any address or station.

Stops near Mong Kok (the default view)

Before you allow location the card shows the stops around Mong Kok station. Allow it, or search a place, and this becomes the stops around you — the live departures on the card update every 30 seconds while it is open.

How to read the card

  • Route · destination · minutes. Each stop lists its next departures nearest-first; a route with several buses coming shows each one.
  • “No live departures right now” means the stop was found but its operator feed has nothing scheduled in the next hour or so — late at night that is normal.
  • Minibus stops with a number instead of a name are stops the Transport Department lists but no operator has named yet; their arrivals still show.
  • Pin a departure (the 📌 on any row) to keep it on the home screen and get a nudge when the bus is a few minutes out.

Where the times come from

KMB and Long Win from the KMB ETA API, Citybus from the Citybus ETA API and green minibus from the Transport Department’s GMB ETA API, all published on data.gov.hk and read at the moment you open the card — nothing is cached beyond 20 seconds. Stop locations: KMB and Citybus stop lists, and the Transport Department’s minibus stop layer on CSDI, refreshed weekly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How accurate are the bus arrival times?
They come from each operator’s own real-time system — the same data the KMB, Citybus and Transport Department apps use — and are read when you open the card, refreshing every 30 seconds while it stays open. Accuracy is the operator’s; in heavy traffic a bus can gain or lose a minute or two between refreshes.
Why does a stop say “No live departures right now”?
The stop was found, but its operator feed has no departure scheduled in the next hour or so. Late at night and on routes with long headways that is normal. If every stop says it, the operator feed itself is probably down; try again in a minute.
Does it cover green minibuses?
Yes. Green minibus arrivals come from the Transport Department’s GMB ETA feed. Red minibuses run without a schedule or a feed, so they cannot be shown. Some minibus stops appear with a number instead of a name; their arrivals still show.
Can I keep an eye on one particular bus?
Pin any departure with the 📌 on its row. Pinned departures sit at the top of the home screen and refresh on their own, so you can watch the 7-minute countdown become 2 without reopening anything.
